Clearing cache: Google Chrome

What is a browser's cache?

While you browse the Internet, your browser stores all sorts of different information in a cache. This information can range from copies of websites (to help with loading speeds), cookies, history, download history, saved passwords, etc. This cache will grow over time, and sometimes needs to be cleared as part of basic troubleshooting.

How do I clear the cache for Google Chrome?

  • First of all, open Google Chrome! Once you've got Chrome opened, press ctrl, shift and delete at the same time - it's very similar to the ctrl-alt-del command!
  • This will open a new tab in your browser with a list of options. In this instance we're going to clear just the cache, so select the option Empty the cache. Ensure the drop-down box is selected on the beginning of time
  • Now click on Clear browsing data, and you're done!
