Setting up a secure password for My Slingshot
When choosing a My Slingshot password we strongly encourage you to choose a strong password
that is different from your other online services.
Here are some great tips for selecting a secure password:
- Make it Long: Aim for at least 12 characters. The longer your password, the harder it is to crack.
- Mix it Up: Use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (like !, @, #, $). This adds complexity and makes your password stronger.
- Avoid the Obvious: Steer clear of common words or easy-to-guess sequences like "password," "123456," or your name.
- Be Unpredictable: Combine unrelated words or phrases to create a unique password
- For example, "BlueSky!9Horse$" is much harder to guess.
- Keep it Unique: Use different passwords for different accounts. This way, if one password is compromised, your other accounts remain secure.
- Use a Password Manager: Consider using a password manager to generate and store complex passwords securely. This way, you don’t have to remember all of them.
