Below are some common reasons for a damaged modem. 

Common reasons a modem may be not working:

• A power surge has happened on your property which has caused the modem to not turn on.
• Damage has been done to the modem and it either turns on but malfunctions, or it cannot turn on.
• A power cable is broken or missing
• A firmware update was applied but it caused the modems system to break
