What is a modem?
A modem is a device that connects your home to the internet. Think of it as a translator that helps your computer talk to your internet service provider (ISP).
Here’s how it works:
-
Signal Conversion: It changes the internet signal from your ISP into a signal that your devices (like your computer or smartphone) can understand, and vice versa.
-
Connection Point: It acts as the main entry point for the internet into your home.
Without a modem, you wouldn’t be able to access the internet. It’s an essential piece of equipment for getting online.
What modems does Slingshot provide?
At Slingshot, we have a few different services, with each having their own specific modem.
Some modems work with other service types while others do not.
Note: We only provide one modem type per product, however due to changes in devices over the years we still support modems that we previously sold.
